About This Property
1 Santon Cottages is a beautiful house situated in the North West Lake District. It is very close to Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, and Wastwater, the deepest lake in England, with the coast a ten minute drive away. The house has breathtaking views over the fells and is well equipped with everything you will need, including a log burner, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Free wi-fi is included. Pets are very welcome and there is a private, fully secure garden.
The space
The property comprises a lounge with a beautiful log burner; a large fully equipped kitchen with breathtaking views over the surrounding fells, including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; a dining room overlooking the garden; a downstairs shower room; a double bedroom; a king size bedroom; and a third bedroom with a 4ft double bed.
Guest access
You will have the whole house to yourselves, as well as the fully enclosed garden. The house is semi-detached, so we do have a neighbour we ask you to be respectful of.
Other things to note
The property has free wi-fi, a television and a landline phone available to use. We are dog and pet friendly and the rear garden is fully enclosed.
The property sits very near Wastwater, the deepest lake in England and home to Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak. The lake has also been voted Britain’s favourite view. There is a pub within walking distance and many more in the surrounding areas, and we are a ten minute drive from several beautiful beaches, including the village of Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the National Park.
There is an abundance of things to see and do for all ages in the area — the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Muncaster Castle, Cumbrian Heavy Horses and the Lakeland Distillery, to name a few. Above all, there are endless walks and beautiful scenery to enjoy.
Getting around
1 Santon Cottages is not ideal if you do not have use of a car. There is a good train network nearby (the closest station is Drigg) and the trip runs along the stunning coastline — a great way to reach the nearby towns, but not an ideal way to arrive unless you have onward plans.
